Yews are slow growing, highly ornamental trees and shrubs with evergreen foliage and red bark, widely found and cultivated. It grows all over the world and is one of the few evergreens that are native to Great Britain. It is a long lived and versatile tree.

The Pacific Yew, also called Mountain Mahogany is a tall tree and the source of the cancer treatment drug. Over harvesting has caused it to be endangered.
