Softwood

The Trees:

Spruce are large evergreen trees with needles which shed periodically. They are long lived and are often found in mountainous regions around the world, as well as extensively used in the garden as ornamental trees and seasonally as Christmas trees.

Spruce Wood

The Wood:

Spruce is a light colored wood, sometimes referred to as whitewood. It is also lightweight with a wide straight grain. It has many uses, from paper manufacture to aircraft construction. The Wright Brother's plane was made from Spruce.
