The Trees:

Pines are evergreen trees with long needles, and come in several recognized varieties. They grow in many parts of the world and generally prefer more arid climates or higher elevations. There are often grown as ornamental trees, and their nuts are harvested for food as well as being relished by wildlife.

The Wood:

Pine wood is usually a light cream to yellow in color and often knotty. It takes readily to stain and its unique characteristics lends itself to rustic settings for furniture, paneling and other construction uses.
