The Trees:

Padauk (Padouk), also called Narra, is is found in Central Africa and Indonesia. It is a large tree whose leaves and bark is used traditionally for medicine and food.

Padauk is a vivid blood orange red when cut, darkening to a deeper red brown when exposed to light. It is a durable and dense wood, often compared to rosewood in color and working properties.
