  CHERRY-Wood and Trees
  Cherry Tree

Prunus Serotina
Hardwood

The Trees:

Black Cherry trees are fruitwood trees which are found throughout the Eastern parts of US and Canada.

Not to be confused with the domesticated fruiting cherry, Black Cherry's fruit is bitter and not generally used for human consumption, but is relished by native birds.

European Cherry is distributed throughout Europe and southeast Asia.

Cherry Wood

The Wood:

Cherry is a much valued wood used for furniture making. The wood varies from a pinkish yellow when first cut to a deep rich reddish brown as it ages and is exposed to light. A dense and fine grained hardwood, it is prized for its strength and workability.
