Artist - Jerry Costanzo
I began my woodworking career in 1974 with the
Historical Society of Northeast Ohio. I would locate original
log cabins in the towns and cities. We would then dismantle the
cabin piece by piece then reconstruct them in parks for a local
museum or rebuild them at historical sites. I became a master
of hand tools as all work was done as original with the same tools.
We would also put additions on existing homes with original materials
down to the stone foundation. I once hand tongue and grooved a
maple floor to match the rest of a farmhouse.
I moved my family in the early 1980's to South Florida where I
have been a custom woodworker for 30 years. I have done extensive
work on both Fisher and Star Islands' in Miami Beach. Some of
my notable projects were for Stallone, Cher and Versace. Not only
did I do work in Gianni Versace's South Beach mansion, I built
4 stores for him from Paris, France to Guadalahara, Mexico.
